PVF to send squad to Thailand tilt

THE Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) under acting president Karl Geoffrey Lee Chan is assembling a women’s volleyball team for the 2013 Asian Seniors Women’s Volleyball Championship on September 13 to 19 in Thailand.

“We are hoping the newly-formed women’s team will come out good. We still have the capability to become No. 2 in the Southeast Asian region,” Chan told reporters during the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum on Tuesday in Manila.

Chan assumed leadership in the PVF after its president Gener Dungo filed a leave on May 31. He will serve as acting president until 2014 if ever Dungo opted not to return
PVF Secretary General Oti Camangian, who joined Chan in the PSA Forum said he already informed the entire volleyball community including the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee about the recent changes in the organization’s leadership.
